Around twenty sailboats will set sail next Saturday, October 30, and will cover 110 nautical miles non-stop to Salou.
For the third consecutive year, Marina Vela is organizing the new edition of the Golden Cup Barcelona Marina Vela together with Skipper Club Náutico and Difusión Náutica. It thus becomes the perfect setting to welcome sailors, thanks to its nautical services, its facilities, and its unbeatable location in the Port of Barcelona.
The new edition will set sail this Saturday, October 30, from Marina Vela at 4:00 PM, and will cover 110 nautical miles, non-stop, to Salou before returning to Barcelona. The appeal of this route lies in the navigation along the Costa Dorada, the variety of winds that prevail in each section, and the number of ports passed, providing a great guarantee for the safety of the regatta, which can be broadcast online thanks to the eStela GPS tracking system.
The regatta will be run using the ORC rating system and is open to full crews as well as solo and A2 crews. A promotion class is also open for those who do not have a rating certificate.
Marina Vela, host port in the heart of Barcelona
As usual, Marina Vela Barcelona will host the start and finish of the regatta. Located in a privileged area next to the W Hotel, it has 130 moorings and a robotic Dry Marina that is a pioneer in Europe, with space for 222 vessels that can be in the water quickly and safely.
The Marina’s main objective has always been to revitalize the area around the northern entrance of the Port of Barcelona and to be open to the people of Barcelona, as well as to support the sport of sailing.
