About twenty sailboats will set sail next Saturday, October 30, and will travel 110 nautical miles non-stop, to Salou.
For the third consecutive year, Marina Vela, together with Skipper Club Náutico and Diversión Náutica, organizes the new edition of the Golden Cup Barcelona Marina Vela. It thus becomes the perfect setting to welcome sailors, thanks to its nautical services, its facilities and its unbeatable location in the Port of Barcelona.
The new edition will set sail this Saturday, October 30, from Marina Vela, at 16 p.m., and will travel 110 nautical miles, non-stop, to Salou to return again to Barcelona. The attraction of this route lies in the navigation along the Costa Dorada, the variety of winds that dominate each section and the number of ports through which it passes, providing a great guarantee for the safety of the regatta, which may be broadcast online thanks to eStela's GPS tracking system.
The regatta will be run with the ORC rating system, and is open to both full crews, solo and A2 crews. The promotion class is also open for those who do not have a rating certificate.
Marina Vela, host port in the heart of Barcelona
Marina Vela Barcelona will host, as usual, the start and finish of the regatta. Located in a privileged area, next to the W Hotel, it has 130 moorings and a pioneering robotic Dry Marina in Europe, with space for 222 boats that can be in the water quickly and safely.
The main objective of the Marina has always been to revitalize the environment of the northern mouth of the Port of Barcelona and to be open to the people of Barcelona, as well as to support the sport of sailing.
